    Exceptional Service by Tony, I’m a first time home buyer with first time home buyer problems. The house I recently purchased came with a mega beast Pellet stove which I knew nothing about, so when we had that 1 degree day on Monday I went into panic mode due to this pellet stove primarily heating my first floor. I called this morning 1/22/19 spoke to someone and told them what was going on and they assured me that someone would be able to come and take a look at what was going on with the pellet stove. Tony was the technician who came and I cant tell you enough how appreciative I was that he took the time to clean out the pellet stove & showed me what the problem was also how to work the pellet stove. Tony also told me how important getting the right pellets are to kept my pellet stove working properly. I would highly recommend Tony he knows exactly what to do.

  4. I was really pleasantly surprised by the excellent service I got on my Enviro stove by Alternative Solutions. I had been mislead by another supposedly highly reputable stove company, the one that allegedly ‘cleaned and serviced’ my stove a year ago (before I bought the house in Sept 2018). Based on what Alternative Solutions did, that other company had done nothing – the stove had not been cleaned properly, cords were lose or plugged in wrong, and the inside of the stove was shiny black (after the Alternative Solutions tech spent an hour thoroughly cleaning my stove with his Ash Vac). Alternative Solutions explained very well how to keep the stove clean, what to look for in terms of problems, and the tech let me know that the inside of the stove should be grayish in color. I can now see the entirety of the interior of the stove, and it’s gray!! Additionally, the technician explained how to get the utmost efficiency from my stove in terms of heat and pellet use. And the price! I was blown away by how little I paid for basically an entire day’s work by Alternative Solutions. I would never go anywhere else but Alternative Solutions.

  5. Our pellet stove started acting up at the end of the season. We replaced the ignitor but it still didn’t run right. I called and an appointment was scheduled within the same week. Not only was the stove cleaned beyond my expectations but it now runs properly and I was provided with tips for using my stove.

  6. I recently bought a home with a free-standing St. Croix pellet stove. I was told that the stove had just been fully serviced before purchasing. I did (what I thought was) regular maintenance and cleaning to be cautious. One night when I turned the stove off, it caught fire in the hopper. Tony came by and went to town on this thing. He said it may have been the dirtiest stove he has ever seen but he had it working like brand new in no time. He was also extremely knowledgeable and gave me a ton of pointers so I don’t have any serious issues going forward. I know who I will be calling from now on!

  8. We had Tony clean our 2 pellet stoves, one is a Harmon insert and the other is a freestanding Heatilator. He took his time and cleaned both stoves thoroughly. Additionally he provided some tips on operating them more efficiently. He was very professional, very neat an very courteous. He was very knowledgable about the stoves operation as well. I would highly recommend this company for cleaning and repairs.

    We did not know anything about pellet stoves. Anthony came and cleaned and prepared our stove throughly for the winter. He also took time to explain the controls of the machine and how it works. We have had no problems, the stove runs beautifully and is easy to operate. Excellent service, could not ask for more!

  10. Last year I had my pellet stove cleaned by an outfit in Connecticut – expensive and kept trying to sell me more services. When I ordered this years pellets from Hattoy’s I asked him to recommend someone local. He sent me to Alternative Heating Solutions. So glad I asked. Tony was on time, thorough, and an all around nice guy. I’ll be back next year for sure.

    About 2 years ago I was having problems with my Easy Fire pellet stove I purchased from an awful company Sierra Products. I’m naming them so nobody ever think about going there. Anyways, my stove was not working properly after less than a year of installing a brand new part bought from named company above. Refusing to order from them again bc they wouldn’t give me a replacement I searched the web looking for another company and came across Alternatives Heating Solutions. I spoke to a crazy friendly, helpful, knowledgeable man named Bruce. He went above and beyond to help which included teaching me how to properly clean my stove. Long story longer, I think an hour later I hung up having more knowledge about my stove then I’ve ever had! The part was affordable, worked great and to top it off, he was a really nice person to chat with! Will definitely call if I ever need anything again.

    I bought a pellet stove from home depot, once I got it installed it was not working at all coming out of the box. We called Alternative Heating Solution. Tony from A.H.S. came to look at the problem. First I want to say he was so nice, and gracious to look at the whole situation prior to the work. Then he saw the problem, and got down and dirty to make sure by the time he left this stove was in business. It sure was. What a gentlemen & a hard worker, as well brilliant in his profession. I really thank Alternative Heating Solution, for taking the time and making sure I am warm & heated.   13. You guys keep this up and you’ll need to clone yourselves! I found Bruce after I’d ordered a fan assembly from the factory that endured the UPS test and failed miserably. When I tried to contact the factory and get the issue resolved I got nowhere. No compassion, or even grasping the gravity of the situation I was in. (Cold because my stove is dead). Bruce has set me right up with what I need and has it on the way to me. I won’t be cold in just a couple days! I’ll never deal with the factory directly again. I’m calling Bruce when my 3801 acts up!

These guys are not only very knowledgeable (so knowledgeable that even Sierra Products refers to them), but they are very gracious in helping out with ideas & solutions over the phone. I had the original company to come out to fix my stove, but liked the way I was spoken to on the phone by Alternative and had them come out and it was a great experience.   18. I’ve had smothering problems with my EF3801B since I purchased it in 2008. The fan motor would seem to die out and the flame would smother and result in soot buildup, pellet overfeeding, pot ash overflow, etc. After trying to change out the motor brushes and even purchasing a new fan motor and heat sensors (thinking that was my problem), I finally called Alternative Heating Solution. It was recommended that I extend my exhaust pipe from just outside the wall to 8 feet with at least a foot above the roof. I took the advice and low and behold!… problem solved!! Now I have excellent draft with great burn, no pellet overfeeding (in fact I had to turn the pellet feed up), no fan motor issues, etc.!!!! THANKS SO MUCH for taking the time over the phone to help me with my situation!!!

    I was having trouble with my 6 year old Quadrafire pellet stove. I called Alternative Heating Solutions, they told me it would cost $170.00 to diagnose the stove. I thought that was a little expensive until they came to my home. First they called me 30 minutes a head of time, at my request. They showed up on time and set up drop clothes in my home. He then gave my stove a COMPLETE cleaning! I have paid more than that for cleanings in the past that were not even close to the cleaning I received today. After that He diagnosed the problem I was having. The problem was fixed and as fate, or my luck, another small problem a rose. The auger jammed. He cleared it and checked every function before giving me my bill. It took nearly 3 hours total and my bill was the $170 quoted to me. FANTASTIC! Thanks so much!

  21. I bought my Breckwell pellet stove insert about 5 years ago from a local distributor who also performed the install. After they abruptly closed without warning, I was at a loss as to whom I could turn to for service. Several area fireplace shops I called said they did not service Breckwell units. I recently had a problem with the pellet feed and after the local Breckwell dealer I finally found told me they did not service my area in Tiverton, RI any longer, they recommended I call Alternative Heating Solutions. What a lucky break for me! A nice man named Tony answered the phone, listened to my problem, was familiar with my Breckwell unit, and said he would be happy to come out and take a look. We made an appointment for a couple of days later and Tony showed up right on time. After discussing the feed problem and examining the hopper and auger , Tony advised that the malfunction may have been the result of a bridging issue caused by an extra-long pellet that may have been blocking the entrance to the auger. Tony then went through the entire unit, discovered and repaired a few other minor cleaning and maintenance issues, closed the unit back up and did not leave until the stove had run for an appropriate amount of time to ensure the pellets were feeding properly and the fire pot was burning at maximum efficiency. The bill for service was exactly what was quoted to me over the phone. The unit is running beautifully now, perhaps better than ever. What a relief to know that AHS is able and available to promptly and expertly service my stove at any time. Thank you Tony for making the process so easy and pleasant! If AHS had a grade for service, professionalism and expertise I would definitely rate them 5 stars.

    We moved to Warwick last March at the end of the heating season. Our home came with a pellet stove and no instructions. We went online to find information , get our pellet stove serviced and purchase pellets. Bruce at AHS was super helpful and set us up to have our stove serviced immediately. This morning Anthony arrived right on time. The first thoing he did was cover the area to insure a clean work area. As he serviced the stove he explained what he was doing and provided a condition report and made recommendations as he went along. Anthony also went through the proper operating process and routine maintenance procedures to ensure proper , clean and safe operation of our insert…..all at a reasonable price. They also provided recommendations for pellets and reputable suppliers. Thank you gentlemen. You can insure we will call you for our cleaaning and service needs.

  23. I had my Pellet Stove cleaned by AlternativeHeating after hearing funky noise. The service tech was on time and very knowledgeable. He cleaned everything from front to back including brushing out the fans. The stove runs like a brand new stove now. I highly recommend these guys.

  26. Everyone at AHS is awesome! I am from Maine and there is no one to service my Easy Fire pellet stove locally. I have called AHS several times over the past few years and Tony always took my call and answered all my questions. Recently my stove has not been working, for several reasons, and I was at the end of my rope with this unit. I decided to send it to AHS for service. They fixed the stove quickly and told me how to operate the stove correctly! It has been working perfectly for the past week! These guys are great and I would recommend anyone! Jeff…Auburn Maine

  29. AHS has been servicing our Easy Fire Pellet Stove for a couple of years now. Originally it had a parts failure which they took care of. The company which sold it to us was no longer servicing them. AHS has always responded quickly and at a very reasonable cost. They have been very good at “training” us how to get the most out of the stove, which we appreciate. They are great guys, and we recommend them to everyone interested in purchasing or having their stove serviced.

  30. The people at Alternative Heating Solutions have been so helpful. I needed a part for my stove and I couldn’t find anyone in CT who would service my Easy Fire stove. Well, they got the part and came all the way here to put it in. They not only put in the part but checked the stove by running it and while doing so, noticed a small amount of smoke leaking back into the house from where my brother had attached the pipe to the stove. Tony, the person who came out to the house, made a tight seal so we can breathe easy. Thanks Tony and thanks ALTERNATIVE HEATING SOLUTIONS!! I will recommend you to everyone I know with a pellet stove or may be looking for one!!

    Anthony just serviced my Harman pellet stove. Even though they don’t sell the Harman brand, they will service and clean it for you. Very thorough and took a lot of time explaining to me what to do and what not to do. I wll call Alternative Heating Solutions again for my service needs with the pellet stove, they showed up when they said they would right on time which is very important to me.

  32. Recently bought a house that had a pellet strove. It stopped working and saw an add for Alternative Heating Solutions. Even though they didn’t sell the brand of pellet stove I had they still said they could fix it. Over the phone they tried to get as much information as they could to make sure they came prepared and have what they needed. When they arrived the were well prepared and educated me about the stove. They quickly repaired the stove and its running better than before. The price was very reasonable and I appreciate that. Would highly recommend them to anyone

  35. I bought a used Easyfilre pellet stove, 2009 model. from an individual in my area. I knew nothing about pellet stoves and realized soon that I had a lot to learn. Luckily I found the support people in Rhode Island. Bruce walked me through quite a few things over the phone, and made the trip out – 1 1/2 hour ride to redo my pipe install. He showed me the whole cleaning process and recommended a couple of parts to order. The stove is running well and I really enjoy my warm house and the ambiance of the flame. If I upgrade to a newer model at some point, I’ll feel confident that I have the support I need should I run into problems. I
    think I’d stay with this brand for that reason, and also that it runs on 12v rather than the higher voltage of
    other model stoves. Bruce will take the time to answer phone questions and walk you through what he
    can over the phone in a patient manner. I would recommend the stove and the support people highly.

  39. I purchased my easy fire pellet insert from a local dealer in Maine. After they went out of business I had no one to service my stove. After working with the manufacturer several times I ended up calling Alternative Heating Solutions. Not only did they take the time to troubleshoot with me over the phone but they did it professionally and courteously! They could have blown me off being from so far away! These guys are aces in my book and I really appreciate the time they took to help me! If they do that for someone who is 3 states away just imagine what they will do for you…right in their back yard!   40. We soon learned after the purchase of our pellet stove 4 years ago that it had not been initially installed or adjusted properly. We experienced every type of operating problem that exists and we also learned there was no one in the area that would service it. By searching on line we learned that Alternative Heating Solutions is a Sierra retailer that also offers service. I called them and they were so very accommodating. They picked our stove up, ordered and replaced necessary parts and tested the stove at their shop. The stove was returned, reinstalled all in a very timely manner. We are so pleased with the stove’s performance. For the first time since we’ve owned the stove, it is operating perfectly and the way it was intended to work. For all those considering a pellet stove purchase, an important thing to consider is availability of support and service after your purchase. We highly recommend Alternative Heating Solutions as their level of experience, knowledge and service of pellet stoves cannot be compared!

    For almost 2 years I was unable to find any one to repair my pelllet stove that I bought from Lowes. Saw an add in the beacon for alternatine heating solutions.
